If we publish something that's wrong, we want to know. This page explains exactly how to tell us, and how we handle it.

We acknowledge every correction request within two business days.
The section editor reviews the request and verifies the claim against primary sources. Three outcomes are possible:
dateModified field is updated. The original wording is preserved in our internal record.Corrections appear at the foot of the article in italic type, with a date, like this:
Correction · 03 May 2026 — An earlier version of this article stated the SARB raised the repo rate by 50 basis points. The MPC held rates steady. The text has been updated.
Where a correction materially changes the substance of an article — a named source, a financial figure, a regulatory finding — we publish the correction note at the top of the article as well as at the foot, and we update the original headline only when accuracy demands it.
We keep an internal log of every correction (date, article, change made, source). This log is not published, but is available to the Press Council of South Africa or other regulator on request.
If you are not satisfied with how we handled a correction request, you may escalate to the editor-in-chief at editors@kopje-mag.com. If you remain dissatisfied, you may lodge a complaint with the Press Council of South Africa.
We do not unpublish articles other than in exceptional circumstances (legal order, safety risk, factual content shown to be substantively false in its entirety). Where the integrity of the public record permits, we correct and update rather than remove.
